Taking Time to Enjoy Fall

horardv

The leaves are changing and the holiday season is creeping up on us. This is such a beautiful time of year to get outside and take a break from studying before it gets super cold. Here are two suggestions for ways to enjoy the beauty of fall!

Take a Trip to Salem

I went to Salem recently for the first time and it was so nice to get away from campus for the day. From Northeastern, you can take the train to North Station, and the commuter rail to Salem. The whole trip takes about an hour! Once you get there, there is no shortage of fun things to do. My friends and I took a tour of the Salem Witch Museum and walked all along the main streets.

Find a scenic walking route

When I need to clear my head, I like to take a walk and focus on things besides whatever I'm thinking of. These photos are from a a trail I pass on my way to co-op! I had been admiring the changing leaves in brief on my way to work in the morning, so one weekend I set out to explore the area more. It turned into a nice walk with beautiful scenery.

Places I'd reccomend around campus are the Boston Commons, but if you're willing to get away try walking on the Esplanade, North Point Park or sitting on Memorial Drive for a great view of the skyline (for the best ice cream I've ever had, try Toscanini's near memorial drive).

Before we know it, all the leaves will be gone and the grass will disappear under a layer of snow. That being said, get outside, explore new areas of Boston and take in the beauty of fall in New England!

Thanks for reading,

Victoria
